The West Shires Alpaca Group was founded in 2011 to promote and protect the interests of alpaca owners and breeders, as well as others interested in alpacas and / or their products (such as vets, fibre processors, fabric designers etc.) in Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire by:
- Sharing information and experience.
- Running husbandry and training days.
- Offering practical support to owners.
- Organising vet days.
- Helping with promotional days and farm visits.
- Running shearing and fibre workshops.
- Helping with craft ideas.
- Organising and running the Royal Three Counties Show and The Midlands Championship Halter Show.
